1.What 乙未 means
乙未 combines the heavenly stem 乙 (Kinoto) with the earthly branch 未 (Hitsuji). 乙 is likened to grasses and flowers, and 未 to the goat (sheep).
The stem on top (Wood) restrains the branch below (Earth), a controlling pairing. The power to take charge and keep things under control shows strongly.
2.Nacchin: Gold in the Sand
The nacchin (納音, “sound element”) of 乙未 is Gold in the Sand. Gold dust in the sand: a talent that shines when polished, so effort pays off. The nacchin describes the essence of a birth-year eto; read more in the sixty eto and nacchin.
3.Personality when your day pillar is 乙未
In Four Pillars astrology, the eto of your birth day (the day pillar) stands for you and for your marriage. Cooperative and resilient, you adapt to your surroundings and make the most of them. You also have an excellent eye for beauty.
The day branch (未) shows your inner self, your private face and your bond with a spouse. Inside you carry the nature of the Goat: Like sheep living together in a flock, the Goat is gentle and cooperative, and stands for the safety of family and friends.
On the other hand: You may go along with others so much that you can't say what you think, or become dependent on someone to lean on.
4.Born in a 乙未 year
If your year pillar is 乙未, you are said to inherit the qualities of grasses and flowers and of the Goat in your social role and family character. For the personality of your birth animal, see Year of the Goat.
