Days that overlap with other lucky days
Apr 20 (Kinoe-ne day + Ichiryū-manbai-bi) – during Doyō, when some avoid moving soil (moving house, groundbreaking), Aug 18 (Kinoe-ne day + Ichiryū-manbai-bi), Dec 16 (Kinoe-ne day + Tenshabi + Ichiryū-manbai-bi)
Days that fall on Fujōju-bi or Jushi-bi are left out. When Tenshabi and Fujōju-bi coincide, some schools say Tenshabi cancels the bad luck and others give Fujōju-bi priority.
How to use Kinoe-ne days
As the first of the sixty, Kinoe-ne is a good day for beginnings. People visit Daikokuten to pray for business, and use the day to start new plans or studies.
The meaning of these days is explained in Lucky days and festivals of the eto, and the calculation in How the calendar is calculated. Almanac notes can differ between traditions.
